Hardcoded Industry Logic

The Problem

"Was that non-conformance actually closed out?" is a hard question to answer from a spreadsheet.

A generic task tracker can hold a checklist, but it has no concept of an audit engagement against a named standard, a non-conformance with a severity rating, or a corrective action that has to be verified before the finding can actually close. Consultancies end up tracking NCRs in a spreadsheet that anyone can mark "closed" without ever recording what fixed it.

Non-conformances get marked "resolved" without any record of root cause or corrective action.
Audit engagements and the standard they're conducted against live in a folder of PDFs, not a searchable record.
There's no way to see, at a glance, how many NCRs from an audit are still open.
How It Works

From audit to non-conformance to verified closure

Closing an NCR is enforced, not just a checkbox — you can't close one without first submitting a corrective action.

Step 1

Schedule the audit

Internal or external, against a named standard, tracked through Planned, In Progress, and Completed.

Step 2

Raise a non-conformance

Clause reference, description, and severity (minor, major, critical), attached to the audit it was found in.

Step 3

Submit the corrective action

Root cause and corrective action, with a due date — the finding moves from Open to CAPA Submitted, not straight to closed.

Step 4

Verify and close

Closing is a separate, deliberate step — the system won't let an NCR close without a submitted corrective action first.

Use Cases

Where this shows up in your day

Lead Auditors

Need to raise findings during an audit without losing track of which are still open.

Every NCR's status is real and queryable, per audit.

Compliance Consultants

Need proof a finding was actually fixed, not just marked done.

Closing an NCR is blocked until a real corrective action is on record.

Client Organizations

Need to see their own audit history and open findings across certifications.

Audits and NCRs both attach to the same client record.

Multi-Standard Consultancies

Run audits against several standards (ISO 9001, 14001, 27001) for the same client.

Each audit records its own standard, independent of the others.

Walkthrough

One finding, from audit to closure

1

An external audit is scheduled against a client for ISO 9001:2015, with a lead auditor assigned.

2

During the audit, an NCR is raised: clause 8.5.1, calibration records not maintained, rated Major.

3

Someone tries to close it directly — the system rejects it: a corrective action has to be submitted first.

4

A root cause and corrective action are submitted, with a due date — the NCR moves to CAPA Submitted.

5

Once the fix is verified, the NCR is closed — with a real record of root cause and corrective action, not just a status flip.

CRM Pipeline

Every audit attaches to the same Client record your CRM already tracks — the organization being audited.

Financial statement audits use a distinct set of modules — Audit Engagements and Working Papers — since they're a different kind of audit entirely.
