Industry CloudReal — shipped

NGO Cloud: every grant, tracked from application to close-out.

A donor-funded grant (a funder reused as the same Client record you already run CRM on) tracked from applied through awarded, active, and closed, plus a real periodic donor-reporting workflow — a reporting window, a narrative, and the amount actually utilized — gated on donor acceptance.

Hardcoded Industry Logic

The Problem

A grant isn't a project — and a donor report isn't an invoice.

An NGO needs to answer two real questions a generic project tracker can't: what stage is this grant actually at, and has the donor accepted our last report on how the money was used?

Grant stages (applied, awarded, active, closed) live in a spreadsheet, not a real status.
Donor reports get emailed as documents, with no record of whether the donor actually accepted them.
Nothing connects a report back to the specific reporting period and grant it covers.
How It Works

From application to accepted report

The donor is the same Client record used everywhere else on the platform — a funder is a client relationship, same as any other.

Step 1

Record the grant

Donor, name, and amount — a real record tied to the donor's Client profile.

Step 2

Move it through award to active

Applied through awarded and active — a real, queryable status, not a memory.

Step 3

File a periodic report

A reporting period, a narrative, and the amount actually utilized during that window.

Step 4

Submit and get accepted

Draft through submitted to accepted — a real, timestamped acceptance from the donor.

Use Cases

Where this shows up in your day

Executive Directors

Need to see every grant's real stage across all donors.

A real, queryable pipeline, not a spreadsheet.

Program Managers

Need to know which grants are active and reportable.

A real status per grant, always current.

Field Officers

Need to file a report on what was actually spent this period.

A real narrative and utilized-amount record, tied to the exact period.

Compliance Teams

Need proof a donor actually accepted a report.

A real, timestamped acceptance — not an email thread.

Walkthrough

One grant, reported all the way

1

A donor's grant is applied for and recorded against their Client profile.

2

The donor awards it; status moves to Awarded, then Active once work begins.

3

A quarterly report is drafted — a real narrative plus the amount utilized during that period.

4

The report is submitted to the donor; status moves to Submitted with a real timestamp.

5

The donor accepts it — status moves to Accepted, a real acceptance record the whole team can see.

Part of one platform, not a bolt-on
